Spent part of Tuesday morning being interviewed by a delightful young woman who, on behalf of the New York State Council on the Arts, is traversing nine counties, as she engages with and collects stories and data on New York's folk/folkoric artists. It was thoroughly energizing to talk about my passion for crochet, about what inspires my creations and how I feel my art has evolved over the years. The discussion also helped me to focus on my desire to teach, possibly through workshops, the basic skills of crochet and knitting, so that these old-world crafts live through the generations that follows.
